Laird qualified as a CA in 1990 after articling at Coopers & Lybrand (now PwC).  Laird trained as a tax specialist while working as a manager, principal and partner at several tax oriented firms in Metro Vancouver.  Laird's primary area of interest is tax planning for private corporations and their shareholders, including restructuring, mergers, dispositions, and acquisitions.  To further his knowledge, Laird completed the CICA In-Depth Tax Course as well as the optional advanced planning and foreign affiliate modules.  Laird has authored and presented many seminars for the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia on income tax and related matters.
